"Exploring Journey"
This
is a journey of discoveries, that combines the Caribbean and the Pacific Coasts
of the country. On the Caribbean, explore the still waterways of Tortuguero,
a national park accessible only by boat, often referred to as the “Amazon
of Costa Rica” and a great opportunity to learn about the natural history
of the area. Continue the trip to the majestic Arenal Volcano, and finish
up the trip at an all-inclusive, family-friendly beach resort that will be
an opportunity for everybody to relax and enjoy the warm waters of Costa Rica’s
Pacific Ocean.

Day 01: Arrival to San José’s Juan Santamaria International
Airport. After clearing customs and immigrations our bilingual representative
will be waiting in order to take you to your hotel in San Jose. Leaving the
city behind, we’ll drive to the Bougainvillea
Hotel, located in the mountains of Santo Domingo de Heredia, a nice
and fresh city, close to the city yet away from the busy San Jose district.
Day
02: Today, we have planned a visit to Inbioparque, a theme park that offers
an interactive experience with nature. It teaches people about Costa Rica’s
biological diversity and the importance of conserving it, a great start to
what you will discover and see in the following days. Here you will see groups
of plants and trees from the tropical rainforest, Central Valley forest and
species from the dry tropical forest and wetlands. On the campus, which covers
an area of more than 5 hectares, visitors can observe many bird species and
marvel at the colors of the orchids, heliconias and bromeliads. Around the
lagoon you can enjoy the butterfly garden and the aquarium and learn about
the Farm and its crops. As you hike along our trails you will get a close
look at poisonous frogs, bullet ants, boas, caimans, turtles, iguanas and
tarantulas, as well as sloths and other native species. Overnight at Hotel

Day 03: Early this morning you will be picked up at your hotel by
your guide & driver in order to take you to Tortuguero. Along the way,
you will pass through the amazing Braulio Carrillo National Park, a rich and
lush rainforest that is divided by the Interamerican highway. A stop for breakfast
will be made at approximately 8:30 am. Continue your drive to the port of
Matina, where after some time to refresh, you will board the boat for 1 ½
hour boat ride to Tortuguero. Along the way, you might spot some of the local
wildlife. Arrive to the lodge on time for lunch and in the mid afternoon,
your guide will take you on to a visit of the small village, where you will
learn about the ways of life of its almost 800 inhabitants. Overnight at Mawamba

Day
04: Your guide will take you to explore the Park on small boats, specially
designed to observe the flora & Fauna present at Tortuguero.
In the early morning, a boat tour is available to enjoy nature at rising,
and will return to lodge for breakfast. At mid morning, a guided walk to the
Tortuguero Hill will introduce you to the fauna of the area. Return to Lodge
for lunch and another afternoon boat tour will take you on to continue exploring
the beauties of Tortuguero. Overnight at Mawamba Lodge. Meals:B,L,D
Day 05: After breakfast, return by boat to the pier in Matina, where
the bus will be waiting and drive you to Guapiles, where you will stop for
lunch at Rio Danta Restaurant. After lunch, say farewell to your Tortuguero
Group, as a representative of the rental car company will deliver a 4x4 all
terrain vehicle for your drive to Arenal Volcano. This 2 ½ drive, takes
you along countryside and farm lands to the town of La Fortuna, where you
will enjoy the views of the impressive Arenal Volcano. Overnight is at Hotel
Arenal Paraiso, a family oriented hotel with 14 small swimming pools,
10 of which have thermal springs naturally heated water, a canopy tour and
an inhouse horseback riding trip (L)
Day 06: The day is yours to discover the richness of this area. Relax
by the pool area, or take part in one of the available day tours including
the adventure and adrenaline booster Canopy (zip line) tour, the horse back
riding trips, safari river float tours, among many others available. (B)
Day 07: At a most convenient time for you, begin your drive from Arenal
to the North Pacific Coast of Guanacaste and specifically to the Papagayo
Peninsula, where your all inclusive Allegro Resort
is located. Your stay here includes all meals and snacks, including menu dining
in the specialty restaurant, unlimited local alcoholic beverages, unlimited
juices and soft drinks, swimming pool, also featuring a kids area, 2 Jacuzzis,
Beach Club, towel service for beach and pool area, Fun Club activity staff
, taxes and gratuities applicable to the package. All inclusive
Day 08: Day at leisure at the beach. Some of the activities included
and available at the hotel are, Daily activities program by pool and beach
area, nightly entertainment with local talent with Fun Club. Kids Club supervised
activities program, Non-motorized water sports program (Chess, billiards,
playing cards and board games), aerobics, water polo, football, soccer, water
basketball by Fun Club activities. All inclusive.
Day 09: It’s time to return to the city! For your convenience,
return the car at the rental car’s airport station, and afterwards the
shuttle will take you to your hotel in the city. Overnight at Hotel San Gildar
Day 10: After spending some precious days in Costa Rica, it’s
time to go back home. Our bilingual representative will meet you at the hotel
approximately 3 ½ hours prior to your International plane departure
time in order to take you to the International Airport. Airport regulations
indicate that traveling passengers must check in 3 hours prior to departure.
Remember that you must pay a $ 26.00 USD per person departure tax at the airport.
