Team Member Tuesday with Tyler Madsen, Software Engineer

This week’s Team Member Tuesday features Tyler Madsen, Software Engineer. Tyler’s favorite thing about Travelers Haven is the “amount of collaboration that occurs within my team and between all departments. Everyone at Travelers Haven is approachable, willing to help and work together to determine the best possible solution to every problem or initiative.”

Tyler grew up in Minnesota and attended the University of Minnesota for his undergraduate degree. He’s never considered himself an east coast person, however he moved to Charlottesville, VA after college and loved the smaller town vibe. In Charlottesville, Tyler worked in digital marketing where he enjoyed and excelled in technical SEO. Tyler decided to transition careers, and moved to Denver in order to attend Turing School of Software, a coding bootcamp. He currently works in the Software Engineering department at Travelers Haven helping to build and improve the online portal.

What is the best part about working on the engineering team?

The best part about working on the engineering team is the lack of ego, willingness to share knowledge and pair with one another, and the autonomy to implement technical solutions for the business’ product needs.

Where’s one place you wish you could travel?

Once we’re out of a pandemic state and travel is acceptable again, I would love to go hiking and camping in the New Zealand mountains.

What is your favorite quote?
